			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last couple of weeks have been very interesting in sports and show how age is just a number and any challenge can be overcome by sheer persistence.</p>
<p>So we had Kim Clijsters winning the US open as a wild card entrant with an 18 months old daughter watching her on big screen. Real win, beating all real champions on the way and winning it with lots of humility and poise!!</p>
<p>Pankaj Advani won his first World Professionals Championship (Billiards)  at a very young age beating his senior compatriot and 9 times champion Mike Russel hands down.</p>
<p>Sachin Tendulkar underlined the fact that it is all in the mind with a series winning knock in the Compaq Cup Finals and a man of the series award and not to forget an even older Sanath Jayasuriya still loving Indian bowling!!</p>
<p>And Leander Paes wins men&#8217;s doubles at US Open at age 36&#8230;</p>
<p>At the same time the almost invincible Federer fell to a 20 years old Juan Del Potro&#8230;.</p>
<p>Look at all of these and you notice that it just does not matter whether you are young or old. It is all about how you think. All these are fairytale stories being written by champions at various stages. Twilight of career, comeback time, start of career etc etc Everyone is lacking in one dominant requirement of their area, somewhere lack of experience, somewhere lack of stamina, somewhere lack of practice but everyone has overcome that just with their sheer power of character.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The pace of infrastructure development currently in Bangalore is the best at least for the last ten years. With Metro rail, roads, flyovers being built all around, I see some real hectic activity that I have not witnessed in this city for the last ten years I have stayed here.</p>
<p>The most heartening feature has been the focus on at least some mid term planning if not absolute long term. There is also a good mix of big projects and many small initiatives.</p>
<p>The project to have a signal free stretch between Silk Board and Hebbal is a noteworthy one. In peak traffic, it will the cut commute time to airport to half. Metro rail, though it didnt move much in the last couple of years, is showing progress at many places now.</p>
<p>Many other initiatives like the road widening in places, the road divider program which has covered long stretches, and signals at many more junctions etc are very welcome too.</p>
<p>The way things are looking, in the next 3-4 years the face of this city will change. The city which won the award for the worst roads in the country few years back (Banerghatta Road was declared the worst road in India couple of years back on NDTV Survery!!), seems to be changing gears for sure!!</p>
